Fans of Rhys Bowen, Jenn McKinlay, Ann Granger or T.E. Kinsey will love these books!
To be honest right from the start: If you love a thriller complete with shivers up and down your spine, goose-bumps all over and gnawing your fingernails while hiding under the blanket at night - don't spend your money on my books.
If you like the fabulous cozy mysteries by Donna Andrews, Rhys Bowen, T.E. Kinsey, Jenn McKinlay or Kate Carlisle, or TV shows like the Midsumer Murders or good old Columbo, you might give the Mackenzie Murder Mysteries a try. Many of my readers have told me they love the series because with each new book it's like meeting old friends again. If you'd like to see the Mackenzies' family saga evolving, I'd recommend starting with volume 1.
Up to now the Mackenzies have managed to solve eleven murder cases. After their huge success in German-speaking countries (more than 100,000 copies sold), all of them are currently in the process of being translated and will be published in 2025.
Great Britain is my second home and each time I'm starting to write a new book I enjoy choosing one of my favorite places as the setting for the next case. Some of the storylines in the books - like the (bilingual) work of a psychologist, the baking of sourdough bread or the big meeting of the clans in Edinburgh - come straight from the horse's mouth, from my own experience. But I also love doing research. Whether it's about Shakespeare, architectural styles, whisky, spies or dinosaurs. The things I've learned, the insights I've gained behind the scenes, the encounters I've had - priceless to me. One of my absolute highlights while preparing for “Death at the zoo” (John's 6th case): meeting Edward the baby sloth at London Zoo. Simply amazing.
A murder during the Ceremony of the Keys sends shock waves through the Tower of London. John Mackenzie, former army psychologist and latest member of her Majesty's Yeoman Warders, suddenly finds himself in the role of undercover investigator. Superintendent Simon Whittington – unscrupulous, ambitious, magnetic, and John's nemesis from their childhood days – seems to have the case wrapped up quickly. But did he really arrest the right man? John becomes embroiled in a dangerous quest for the truth. Fortunately, he can rely on the support of the inimitable Mackenzie clan!
A few days' vacation with the whole family in Edinburgh - John Mackenzie, Beefeater in the Tower of London, has been looking forward to this for a long time. But the big gathering of the Scottish
clans, organized by his elderly but energetic Aunt Isabel, is overshadowed by a sudden death. Only a few days remain to unmask the murderer - now John has to join forces with Scotland Yard
Superintendent Simon Whittington.
A real treat for me: The Palace´s answer after I had sent John Mackenzies first case to HM back in 2016!
I have to say that I do feel honored....
